No one can argue that we often feature flowers prominently in our lives, homes, offices, and weddings. Certain kids have special places in coronations, celebrations, and other rituals. On Birthdays we wish our dear and near ones with a fresh bouquet. A long time blessing on the planet, flowers are one of the best ways we have to convey or receive a signal of caring.

There is a language of flowers, and that has different meanings throughout the world. Since time immemorial it has triggered of the imagination and inspiration of numerous poets, artists and writers. Whenever we find ourselves at a point where words fail us, they can help us out by expressing how we feel.

Another benefit of flowers are that they can make your mood brighter or give you a more cheerful emotional state. You should also not be surprised that these wonder plants have a capacity to increase satisfaction and social manner positively. Moreover, flowers play important roles in our immediate happiness, increase the positive nature of our moods, and make our connections more intimate.

Today, flowers are selected due to their implied meanings. If you were to give acacia flowers, for example, you would be giving flowers that are believed to represent hidden love, chaste love, or beauty. The 'Aster' symbolizes both love and daintiness, a pink carnation means I will never forget you while the yellow carnation specifies rejection or disappointment but the tulip says you have sunshine in your smile.

There are scientific as well as traditional interpretations that flowers do have healing properties too. In a study conducted by an environmental psychologist by the name of Dr. Roger Ulrich at Texas A&M University, plants can have a unique effect on patients who have them in their rooms. He discovered patients levels of stress were reduced, their need for pain medications decreased and hospital stays were shorter with increased sense of optimism and physical well-being.

Recently, many health care facilities have taken the initiative to utilize these ideas in creation of their healthier, patient friendly environmental atmosphere. In order to give the patients the best care possible, flowers are included in the scenery.
